Everything has been announced for Disney+ Day so far

The worldwide celebration of Disney+ Day will return on Thursday, September 8, 2022, leading up to D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. To celebrate, the streaming service will host special experiences for fans and subscribers, and preview new content from its flagship brands.


New movies and shows coming on Disney+ day

Here’s a look at everything Disney has announced so far for Disney+ Day 2022. We’ll update this article if and when Disney announces more titles.

To celebrate Disney+ Day, Disney and Pixar’s “Cars on the Road” original series will debut exclusively on the streaming service on September 8, 2022. The Disney+ Original series follows Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) and his best Friend Mater (voiced by Larry Cable Guy) as they head east from Radiator Springs on a cross-country road trip to meet Mater’s sister. “The series is a cross-country splurge with Lightning McQueen and Mater,” says director Steve Purcell. “Like any real road trip, every day is a new mini-adventure with unexpected twists.”


Pinocchio

Academy Award® winner Robert Zemeckis directs this live-action retelling of the beloved story of a wooden puppet who embarks on a thrilling journey to become a real boy. Tom Hanks stars as Geppetto, the woodcarver who builds and treats Pinocchio (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) as if he were his own son. Growing up

Created by Brie Larson and Culture.House, “Growing Up” is an innovative hybrid documentary series that explores the challenges, triumphs and complexities of adolescence through ten gripping coming-of-age stories. The series uses narrative, experimental and documentary films to follow an individual, aged 18-22, as they tell their story. Epic Adventures with Bertie Gregory

Wedding season (internationally)

Disney+’s “Wedding Season” UK original series will premiere on Disney+ globally, on Hulu in the US and on Star+ in Latin America on Thursday, September 8, 2022 (Disney+ Day).

Mike (UK/Ireland)

“Mike” will be released as an Original Star on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland on Thursday September 8, 2022 (Disney+ Day).

MIKE comes from creator/writer Steven Rogers and the team behind I, Tonya and showrunner Karin Gist (Our Kind of People). The 8-part limited series tells the dynamic and controversial life story of boxing icon Mike Tyson, starring Trevante Rhodes!

Harvey Keitel, Laura Harrier, Grace Zabriskie, Olunike Adeliyi and TJ Atoms also star.
