To a sensible citizen, the world seems to make less and less sense with each passing day.

The values we once held so dear, which bound us together in a vibrant civil society, are being bombarded daily.

Offensive things are commonly said and done today in ways that inflame, denigrate and divide.

The freedoms we took for granted – freedoms of thought, of speech, of the press, of religion – are rapidly fading as intrusive government and cultural cancellation gain ground.

“Orwellian” is no longer just an adjective derived from a work of fiction over seven decades ago; it describes a new development in our lives every day. History itself is being rewritten to serve the “progressive” political agenda.

Examples: Slavery is the singular characteristic that defines America. Which of 87+ genders you are depends on how you choose to “identify” today. Killing babies right up to the moment of birth is okay, but giving them a choice of school later is antisocial. A welfare check is an entitlement, but a paycheck is not. It’s “free” if it comes from the government. Violence is good if it gives us what we want. Some say these things are just plain stupid; I think there is something much deeper going on.

Is the world going crazy or is it just you, or just me? Your senses do not deceive you; the world is indeed going mad, right before our eyes.

Evil is on the loose. Do not be depressed by this fact, because a defeatist spirit will inevitably disarm you, and that is precisely what Evil wants. The last thing evil wants is an informed populace willing to push back. It’s not inevitable that Evil will win – unless the good people give up.

Sometimes evil manifests itself in an act so horrible no one can excuse it, like a school shooting. Then Evil gets to work getting people to ignore the real causes and support false solutions, like disarming the innocent.

The essence of the evil we are fighting is deception, and its mortal enemy is truth. He wants us to believe in the myth that everyone is either a victim or an oppressor, that individual freedom must be stifled in favor of collectivist socialism and its authoritarianism. It is deeply reactionary and pessimistic.

Evil pushes us to reject belief in God while it elevates the state to the status of God. It’s a deception as old as the Tower of Babel. He destroyed nation after nation.

In a June 2018 article on HackSpirit.com, Lachlan Brown identified the traits of bad people. They revel in the misfortune of others. They need to control and manipulate people. They lie, hide their true selves, and “leave you a weird feeling when you’re around them.” They are mean, show no remorse, and escape responsibility for their actions. They crave power.

A bad person believes that his ends justify all means. He divides the world between villains and victims and sees himself as a savior. He steals, hurts, slanders, deceives and deconstructs everything that stands in his way. He accuses the innocent of the very crimes he himself commits.

Remember the wisdom of Edmund Burke: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
