Funding of new ABC, SBS, NITV films, 10 documentaries.

Screen Australia has announced funding for new ABC, SBS, NITV and 10 documentaries on family murders, the fertility industry, Sydney Opera House and Indigenous youth.

There are also other documentaries on Israel Folau, Tasmanian Tiger and First Nations activism, but which have not yet been announced by a broadcaster.

Screen Australia documentary manager Alex West said: “We have been impressed with the wide range of applications and these documentaries are a testament to the talent of filmmakers who create local stories with great impact. These projects will explore contemporary social issues, including how the work of First Nations artist Richard Bell uses art to effect change in War and order, as well as the complexities of parenting in adolescents Children raising children. They’re also set to celebrate Australian icons like the Sydney Opera House and the Tasmanian Tiger, and I can’t wait to see them hit our screens big and small.
