Venice documentary ‘All The Beauty And The Bloodshed’ sells out in Italy, Germany and Spain | New

Altitude Film Sales has secured key international deals for Laura Poitras’ documentary All the beauty and bloodshedwhich has its world premiere in Competition in Venice today.

I Wonder chose the film for Italy; Plaion (formerly Koch Media) acquired it for Germany; while Filmin took it to Spain.

Neon was previously confirmed as a distributor in North America; while Altitude will release the film itself in the UK and Ireland.

A rare non-fiction title in competition for the Golden Lion in Venice, All the beauty and bloodshed depicts artist and activist Nan Goldin’s fight to hold the Sackler family accountable for the overdose crisis, through the activism group PAIN (Prescription Addiction Intervention Now).

The film will travel to Toronto from its premiere in Venice, followed by New York as the centerpiece screening; and a UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in October.

The film is produced by the American firm Participant, with producers Howard Gertler, John Lyons, Yoni Golijov, Poitras and Goldin. Executive producers are Jeff Skoll and Dianne Weyermann of Participant; Claire Carter; Alex Kwartler; and Hayley Theisen.

The theatrical release of the film will coincide with a retrospective of Goldin’s work, which will open at the Modern Museet in Stockholm in October before an international tour in Amsterdam, Berlin and Milan.
